Hey Gang,
Everyone has friends, but not all of these friends know about the message that Jesus has for them. This next series will hopefully be challenging for you. The real payoff will be the series to follow, which will give you a natural opportunity to bring those friends along to Sunday morning and Wednesday night with you.
A few points to remember from Sunday morning:
- Ask God for Words
A man much smarter than I said, It’s only up to you to start the conversation, it’s up to God to have the conversation. Pray this week for chances to talk to your friend. This doesn’t mean rehearsing speeches or memorizing lines. It’s simply a chance to tell a friend about something good in your life, something that we do normally everyday.
- Ask God for Boldness
Being bold isn’t about knowing everything, sometimes the boldest thing we can tell our friends is “I don’t know”. The Bible speaks regularly about heros of our faith thinking that someone else might be better suited for the job. Moses wouldn’t go anywhere until God provided his brother to walk beside him. Praying for boldness is, in itself, a pretty bold prayer. This week, simply ask God to be with you in that situation. And He will be.
- Ask God for Clarity
This is where we often get mixed up in our approach. As Christians, we feel like we need to have every answer to any question anyone might throw at us during the day. This leads to our fear to speak to anyone else because what would we say if we didn’t have the answers? Sharing your faith with friends should be more about sharing simple truths then anything else. Pray for clarity this week, that you would have the correct truth to pour into someone else’s life.
